Multi-Finger Imaging Tool
The multi-finger caliper family, which includes 24-finger, 32-finger, 40-finger and 60-finger versions, is used to provide accurate tubing/casing caliper measurements. Data from each finger is monitored independently. The high quality data allows for 3-dimentional imaging and the calculation of rates of corrosion or scale deposition. When measuring, the fingers are motored open. The spring gets loaded. Each finger tip is pushed against the inner surface of the pipe for measuring even very small variations in diameter. The tool also includes an inclinometer to indicate well deviation, and a relative bearing sensor to indicate rotation of the tool.
